Phil was humming quietly as he worked in the kitchen. He knew things were tense right now with Ross pushing through the accords and then Iron Man and Cap going at it. As Director of SHIELD he'd spent many late nights trying to sooth people behind the scenes. But now he wasn't director of anything. He was just a worried husband waiting for his spouse to get home as he cooked dinner.

"There was a fight over the accords... and them wanting to arrest Steve..." He says rubbing the back of his neck. "It was Me, Steve, Bucky, Sam, Wanda, and this dude..." He nods to Scott, "Ummm and their might have been a fight with Vision, Tony, Natasha, the panther guy, and Col. Rhoads...." He goes on... "Tony might have shot me off a roof with a repulser... no Jade Jaws to catch me this time..." His eyes go a little sad. "So not my fault this time, they want over site... but with how deep hydra was rolling, fuck that." He says hobbling up to the porch nodding for Scott to follow. "Couldn't let them arrest cap, couldn't let them take Barnes... I ... I know what it's like, and none of what he did was his fault..."

Phil was well aware of what was going on as the accords were causing rifts in SHIELD as well. "I know," he says calmly, "Ross has been very clear that he wants what's left of SHIELD to sign them and it's causing problems among my team" He glances at Scott. "Nice to meet you in person Mr. Lang, Phil Coulson." He holds out a hand. "Hank has told me a lot about you and your trip to the Avengers base was interesting to watch on video."

"Never letting Sam live that one down." Clint laughs tiredly as they move into the house. "What's for dinner... babe?" He asks fighting off a yawn, as he sits down on the couch wincing slightly.

"I was surprised... I was able to take him." Scott shrugs looking around the house.

"Wilson is a decent pilot, but you had an extra advantage he didn't know about. After Pym left SHIELD Director Carter wiped the system clean about Pym Tech and everything Hank had made." Phil smiled at Clint and finally answered his question. "Steak, kale salad and potatoes. I kept it simple since I didn't know who was coming with."
